Club Optimiste d’Amos
The Club Optimiste d’Amos is a volunteer community organization that has been active for over 54 years in the region. Founded on the values of mutual aid, dedication, and commitment to youth, the Club Optimiste brings together passionate volunteers who work towards the well-being of the Amos community.
Each year, the Club Optimiste d’Amos invests between $8,000 and $10,000 to support local causes, youth programs, and community events. This financial support is made possible through the various fundraising activities organized by the club and the generosity of its members and partners.
Our Mission
The mission of the Club Optimiste is to contribute positively to community life by:
- Supporting the development and growth of youth
- Organizing community gathering events
- Encouraging volunteerism and civic engagement
- Creating moments of happiness and togetherness for families
La Magie des Neiges — 30 Years of Tradition
Since 1996, La Magie des Neiges has been the largest winter event in Amos. Organized entirely by volunteers from the Club Optimiste, this family festival is celebrating its 30th edition this year.
Over the years, La Magie des Neiges has become an unmissable tradition that attracts thousands of visitors each winter. The event showcases the beauty of Abitibi winters while offering accessible and free (or low-cost) activities for the whole family.
This 30th edition is an opportunity to celebrate three decades of memories, laughter, and moments shared in winter joy. Thank you to all the volunteers, partners, and visitors who bring this event to life year after year!
